Entering high school can be a scary, new beginning. You might know many people yet, you might not know your way around the school entirely, or you might just think that the transition will be rocky and enduring. You are not alone in this journey, and to show this, I will be offering some tips for freshman as a junior in our school.

  1. Join a fall sport!

    1. Joining a fall sport can be especially helpful in establishing connections and creating friendships even before the school year begins. You can also find yourself really loving a sport you may not have considered before due to a new perspective brought by these new experiences. When I was a freshman, I joined the freshman volleyball team, and those friends I made are still my friends!

2. Join a bunch of clubs!

    1. With involving yourself in a variety of clubs, you can meet new people, find interests you may like to grow, and you can build upon this piece with this encouraging a more prominent role later on. Clubs are a great way to meet people similar to your interests which in turn can be easier to start with as a freshman!

3. Be yourself!

    1. Stang is big for a Catholic school. This will allow you to branch out, and this will allow you to really make your mark in finding your own friend group. Being yourself is very important because as the years go on, you will find yourself encompassing everything you wish to be in a person. Stay who you are, and do not let anyone bring you down. God loves you!

With all of this being said, freshman year will go by quickly, but with the time being, embrace this new adventure. It will be enduring, but it will not be bad. This is a milestone in your life, and being a spartan will stay with you forever. Stang is my home away from home. I hope it can now become yours too!
